If you’re a regular reader of Man Cave Kings then you will know that we love a good games room. They are also perfect for adults to unwind and relax after a hard day at work or to socialize with friends on a weekend. But what should a man cave good games room be equipped with to keep everyone happy?
Below, we list our top 5 games for a Man Cave.
1. Pool Table
Our favorite table game to play is pool. There are various pool table games to play such as 8 ball and 9 ball pool. They great thing about Pool is you can play one player, two player, four player or 5 + plus player knockout games. Pool games tend to be fun and quick, rather than long and boring – perfect when entertaining.
Pool tables can take up a lot of room so you will need to ensure you have enough space before buying a pool table. However, pool tables come in various shapes and sizes so you should be able to find one f to fit your games room. We would recommend a minimum of 6ft x 3ft for maximum fun however there are some great smaller tables available.
2. Ping Pong / Table Tennis
Ping Pong is a family favorite for many games room owners. Like pool you can play singles games, doubles games, and practice by yourself. There are also possible health benefits of playing ping pong. It’s good for your joints, burns calories and makes you think and strategize.
Ping pong tables are not small. You will require a big room if you want a pool table and a separate ping pong table. A great solution to the space problem is a table tennis conversion top that will sit on top of a pool table and can be stored away when not in use.
3. Arcade Basketball
Arcade basketball is something we love to play when on holiday. Now you can play this great game at home with indoor arcade basket ball game. They come with a choice of one, two or three hoops and their multiple games that you can all enjoy.
4. Air Hockey
Air Hockey is another great game we play when on our holidays that is enjoyed by all the family. The good news is that there are some great home air hockey tables for the games room. And similar to ping pong, air hockey burns calories and makes you use your brain, so not only are you having fun, but it’s good for you also. The rules of playing are pretty simple, so can you start enjoying this great game as soon as you have set-it-up.
5. Foosball
Foosball is a fast action game that’s been about forever – the first patent is way back in 1923. It’s a game of skill, reflexes and co-ordination, but with these handy tips you can quickly pick up the skills to become a good player . You can play singles or doubles matches and even practice by yourself. Usually, the first person to 10 goals wins, but you can decide between yourselves the ‘first to’ target score.
The foosball tables come in many designs but are broadly split into 2 categories – European and American. The main difference being the European tables have 3 goalies and American tables have 1. A foosball brand that we enjoy playing on is Kick.
